HashiCorp Nomad

We schedule workloads with HashiCorp Nomad rather than Kubernetes. Nomad is a single binary that schedules containers, VMs, and plain executables, it integrates natively with Consul for service discovery and Vault for secrets, and a small team can operate it across our datacenter and cloud without a platform team dedicated to the orchestrator. Kubernetes is more capable and has a far larger ecosystem, but for our scale and workload mix its operational cost outweighs the benefits.
