SeaweedFS

We’re trialing SeaweedFS as our self-hosted, S3-compatible object store in place of MinIO. SeaweedFS is Apache-licensed, handles very large numbers of small files efficiently, and scales out with separate volume and filer servers. MinIO has steadily reduced its open-source community edition, removing most of its web console and ending prebuilt community releases, which makes it a poor foundation for us. SeaweedFS is less polished operationally, and that’s what this trial needs to prove out.
